What is RYBA?

RINGGOLD YOUTH BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION

RYBA is the local basketball development program for boys and girls in grades Kindergarten to 6th grade within the Ringgold Area School District communities. Our purpose is to grow participation, develop highly skilled competitive players, instill in your children a positive attitude, good sportsmanship, sound basketball fundamentals, confidence and a love of the game over time with boys and girls within the Ringgold School District communities for the purpose of developing Ringgold youth basketball players to feed the Ringgold school teams with competitive teams at the middle school and high school levels.

It is a proven fact that competitive high school teams come from healthy and growing youth programs. Kids who participate in their youth basketball program consistently for years generally do better by then time they are eligible for the Middle and High School teams (7th to 12th grade), than kids who decide to wait to play organized basketball until that point.

The Ringgold youth basketball program consists of 4 parts.
(1) The Recreational youth basketball regular season each Winter for boys and girls in grades 3 to 6 with team practices and games.
(2) A Little Ballers instructional season each Winter for boys and girls in grades K to 2 where the players will learn basketball basics and the foundational skills needed to be an effective player over time.
(3) The competitive Travel youth basketball regular season each Winter for boys and girls in grades 3 to 6 with team practices and games. Annual tryouts determine Travel program registration.
(4) Promoting additional playing opportunities including AAU programs, and other available camps and clinics in the area throughout the calendar year.
