Every registered player, except Hoop Stars, will receive 3 tickets immediately following their individual registration. Ticket pickup dates will be announced. The tickets must be paid for upfront with registration, however parents get their fundraiser tickets money back as they sell the tickets on their own. Parents keep the fundraising money collected from the tickets they resell.

Player parents have the option to put the registration amount due on a payment installment plan, or pay in full upfront. The fundraiser tickets however must be paid in full upfront during the online registration process. There is no installment plan option for the fundraiser tickets.

ALL INTERESTED PLAYERS MUST ATTEND AT LEAST ONE OF THE MANDATORY TRYOUT SESSIONS IN SEPTEMBER. Tryout sessions are free, no cost or obligation.

  • PLEASE NOTE: Playing on a Travel team the prior year, is not a promise to make a Travel team roster again the following year. Annual Tryouts determine final travel team rosters each year.

Tryouts sign-up and player registration

Travel player registration works differently than the other RYBA programs

(1) Two-Step Registration Process

REQUIRED - Step 1: Participants login and register online for tryouts. It is recommended parents/guardians complete this step in advance of the Tryout sessions, but if not then a Board member can help complete this step in-person at check-in at the first Tryout session attending.

After tryouts, the Board will allocate selected participants in the system to designated teams, and send an email acknowledging they made the team. Any registered player who does not receive an invite following Tryouts, or does not attend Tryouts will be rostered to a Recreational team. All registered kids will play.

Step 2: Participants log back in to the system to accept their position on the team and pay.

The Travel player parent then has until the end of September to process the registration payment transaction, or else the player is removed from the roster for a different player choice.

7th & 8th grade Boys and Girls

  • Ringgold High School basketball coaches recommend players in 7th and 8th participate in competitive basketball in preparation for the high school level.
  • In youth basketball Travel teams for grades 7 and 8 are determined by the final school team rosters provided by the middle school team coaches each season.
